Change!

I have left this blog for more than a year without any word to my followers about what was happening and I apologize.  It has been a very eventful year beginning with a new full-time job at the University of Arizona last January.  In the year since I have cared for my mother whose health declined quickly and seriously.  She died last July.  I have been doing a lot of simple recovery since then and not much in terms of my jewelry and accessories business.  I will be reevaluating that effort.  I am also seriously considering writing a book.  I have begun another blog that will focus exclusively on that process.  Please visit it if you are interested @

I expect to be posting more frequently there than here but feel free to contact me through either blog if you have questions regarding my products.  Thank you for your interest and support.

Getting to the end of the summer and monsoon

I have enjoyed my Wednesdays this summer at the craft fair. My booth continues to grow and evolve. It has been a very creative retail experience for me. We continue to have reasonable crowds attend each week. Sales can be slow but I am surprised by the interest that grows each week. The response to my creations is unfailingly positive and that leads me to hope that sales will recover once the economy improves and our winter visitors return.

Here is an updated view of the booth.

New Sweatshirt Order to be submitted

I have sold enough of my sweatshirt jackets to allow for a new order. I will be making both jackets and vests this time. The vests will have pockets and a zipper with beaded zipperpull. In advance of placing this order I am offering an opportunity to my customers to make a request for a particular size or color. Some people haven't been able to find the right combination of size and color amongst my stock. If you would like to have me include your request in my order, please contact me by phone or email before the end of the day Thursday, April 9th. I will also be offering this opportunity at the Farmers' Market and Craft Fair this Wednesday. Hope to see you there!

Renewed Focus

I had hoped to be involved in a new full-time job by now but that hasn't been possible. Rather than sit around waiting for the phone to ring, I am renewing my craft fair efforts. I have a new, larger table and will be able to set up and display my work more effectively. I am also exploring the possibility of a new craft item. It will take some design work to make it unique and truly my own. I will post photos of the work in progress.

The idea is the result of a suggestion from a friend so feel free to make suggestions!

I hope the new year is treating you well.

Craft Fair Success!

Against all expectation we had the best crowds I have seen in three years of doing these fairs. I thought the current economy would keep people at home, but the weather was great and people came out in droves. I am sure that the front page article about the Fair and the crafters in the Wednesday paper helped a great deal. I sold a number of my sweatshirt jackets and enjoyed the two days spent visiting with my friend Lee.

I have discovered that there is a fledgling farmers market at the local mall Wednesdays from 10 to 2. They are welcoming crafters as well as food producers so I will try setting up a table there starting tomorrow. We are due for rain but I hope it will hold off until after 2 pm. Wish me luck!
